Do you ever wonder why being mindful is so hard…

..yet so crucial for stable mental health?

Mindfulness: living in the moment, should be a walk in the park but for so many of us it’s so challenging that we don’t believe it’s even possible.

We aren’t aware of this, but we project our past into our present and think we are living in the moment with similar setbacks from our previous encounters.

Now, what or who do you think is responsible for that?

The Subconscious Mind

Our subconscious is responsible for learning new skills and running 95% of who we are, leaving only 5% for the conscious mind.

It stores our beliefs and principles, processes information, stores memories, and decides on which information to send to the conscious mind.

As the name suggests, it operates without our full awareness

It makes the decisions and pushes them to our aware mind for implementation and action

Every decision, habit, and behavior comes from the subconscious mind making mindfulness challenging as we operate based on past information (memories).

Though the conscious mind is hardworking, it can only do so much on its own considering how much opposition it gets from the subconscious.

It needs our help to trick the subconscious into following its lead through the information we consume hence;

The input we feed into our brains is the output we get.

To make our semi-automatic mind work in our favor we have to deliberately feed ideas of our goals into our brains to influence our subconscious mind to nudge us to think, feel, and behave positively toward accomplishing them.

The hard work of our conscious mind can count only if we savor every moment in our present and direct the encounters to the subconscious.

Being mindful is not easy, just like every other thing in life, but with this information, you have a brain cheat sheet to make every breath count.

Live mindfully, live holistically!
